2022 Program Safety Policies
Programs are planned as outlined below, but the Rice Creek Boat Club will follow any Minnesota Department of Health recommendations and make changes as needed as the COVID-19 pandemic health progresses. We will prioritize the safety of our participants and coaches.
- Face coverings are not required outdoors.
- Face coverings are required to enter the boathouse.
- Physical distancing of 6′ will be encouraged. If participants agree to share a boat with seats greater than 6′ apart, they will be allowed to share a boat. For boats with seats closer than 6′ seats will be kept empty to maintain physical distance unless participants are from the same family or are vaccinated.
- Per recently updated guidance by CDC minimizing the roll of transmission via surface contact, we will not be disinfecting shared equipment (e.g.: paddles, boats) between users. RCBC will make disinfecting wipes* available for participants use if they wish to disinfect equipment before they use it. *Disinfectants used must be on the EPA “N” list and required contact times observed.
- Participants will be encouraged to bring their own lifejackets, and wash hands following sessions.
- Participants and coaches are encouraged to wash hands with soap and water frequently and at the end of each session. We will have hand sanitizer available, and the public bathrooms are easily accessible for use.
